Items on Overloading Problem of Traffic Debated

On November 29, the RA NA Deputy Speaker Vahe Enfiajyan and the deputy of the NA Prosperous Armenia Faction Iveta Tonoyan met with a group of experts and representatives of the NGOs to debate the set of tools for mitigating the overloading problem of the traffic and the consequences stemming from it and the undesirable accidents.

According to Vahe Enfiajyan, legislative and legal amendments are necessary conditioned by the abrupt increase of automobile transport means.

The participants have presented a number of recommendations, talked about the situation in a number of parts of Yerevan, which is of danger for pedestrians and the drivers.

The NA Vice President has assured that relevant studies will be made on the basis of the presented facts and the Faction will apply to the RA Head of Police and the Mayor of Yerevan with the official letter of commendation for rectifying the created situation.

The MP Iveta Tonoyan highlighted the driver-pedestrian cooperation, considered necessary to invest a new culture of public tolerance and mutual understanding, which in its turn would promote the more literate maintenance of traffic rules.

At the end of the meeting an agreement was reached to make the debates more frequent for quick and effective response of the emerged items.
